Saturday, we went and ate lunch with our friends Brian and Jennifer. While we were eating, they told us where they had seen something saying if each time a 5 dollar bill came across your wallet to save it and put it away. They started doing this December 1st. Sounds simple right? While we were at the restaurant Brian paid a 9.00 bill with a 20 bill so he got back (2) fives and a 1. So there goes that 20! I told Paul that sounds like a great idea. I'm not sure what we will use the extra money for, likely a vacation (since that's all I can think about these days) but this should be interesting. I don't think we will do as well as Brian and Jennifer since Paul and I hardly ever use cash but I'm excited (Does anyone else debit 2.00 stuff at Sonic?).
I had my first 5 dollar cash in on Sunday. I went to get us a couple of movies to watch and I got to put it in the "special" box. Notice, I wrapped it up tight so we cant "break into it" throughout the year. I guess now we have to decide when to cash it in. Has anyone ever done this before? If so, how much was the cash in? Happy Savings! Have a GREAT Monday!

Let me know how this goes. I just left 2 5's out for the maids this morning. Darn! We use debit and credit for EVERYTHING!
Dang, I need those maids! $10 for a house cleaning!!! LOL
P.S. Thanks for the comment, at least I have someone that checks in on me still.
Sounds like a great idea, but we SERIOUSLY never carry cash! The other day I put less than $2 on a credit card!
I thought you were going to say that you were going to put this money away for college- yes, I am already scared about paying for 2 college tuitions!
Funny you said that Angela! Paul and I talked about "the college fund" during lunch today!
Great idea! But I haven't carried cash since I was 19 waiting tables! I am so bad, I run thru McD's for a drink (.99) and put it on my debit card.
Have a great Tuesday!
